Lisbon by night
The old expo area in Lisbon harbours great architecture
with the same typical smooth cobble stoned pavements. From the Casino (nerver been), via the Oceanium (highly recommend, but reserve a full day to visit, and chuckle at feeble attempts of all other “big” aquariums that frankly don’t even come close to this) to the Honest Greens (great atmosphere and food) at the Tejo riverside to the Vasco da Gama shopping mall near the famous Oriente train station. It’s only a few metro stops from the airport and fares are cheap.
The area is very different to the old town, which is a little further downstream, or Belem even further downstream (with the famous Portuguese custard mini tarts), but it’s all within the same 30 mins travel from the airport, also to Sintra (if you must). This is a business area where food is both cheap and good, and offices were made to look impressive and pretty, but trust me are a maze to navigate as a result.

The Vodafone office is beautiful yet truly challenging to navigate it’s cryptic layout, with discontinuous floors and elevators not covering every floor. I’ve found myself lost more than once …. (non Leica iphone picture alert).

Tivoli Oriente Lisboa
Impeccable lobby
and super friendly staff
Look at those radiant smiles!

I managed not to ruin all the shots but the super bright background made it hard to make a decent picture of these beautiful young people.
Mail me if you’d like a higher resolution version without the watermark.

Ode to the truck drivers (2)
They come from far away,
wearing the story of their lives
on their always-friendly faces.

Thanks Bram! Send me a mail to get any of these images at full resolution and without watermark, like the first one. They’ll be about 25mb each, as fairly high resolution.

Thanks Hein for being my willing first subject!
Send me a mail and I’ll provide the pictures in full resolution without watermarks.
They’re about 25mb each : ) so could make a nice poster out of them if you’d want to. -
Bonnefanten
The local museum
inspires by its building,
content and visitors.

The museum challenged its visitors to take a “selfie”, where below was a random visitor asking her partner to make a photo with her phone. To be honest, with great lighting and a Leica Q2 Monochrome, that’s much easier. Here’s your pic!
(download zonder watermerk en volledige resolutie: klik op de foto, dan op het i-tje, dan op “View full size 5739×5739“, kun je eenvoudig laten afdrukken op 2x2m)

Sundays in Maastricht
Hugged by both Belgium and Germany in driving distance
Maastricht is never really silent, with shops open every Sunday..
Where adorable eldery locals dress warmly,
even inside the diner.

Dames; dank jullie wel voor jullie medewerking! Stuur gerust een mailtje als je de fotos op hoge resolutie/zonder watermerk zou willen hebben.

reflections of emptiness

No urgency
applied here.
The front door looked half-painted
for half the old dog’s life time.

The pretty port is more drowsy than usual
The tourists all seem to be
